Discipline is key to success during school days. Vacations and holidays usually disrupt a good routine which leads to boredom and fatigue suddenly when school starts. Fear not, as this guide will help you get back to a good day and night routine.

Method 1

Method 1 of 2:

Forming a Nighttime Routine

  1. 1

Take a shower. You can use good scented soap or body wash such as vanilla, coconut, shea butter, etc.[1] Wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo and make sure to get into the roots![2]

  2. 2

Dry your hair with a towel and comb it out. Nobody likes waking up with a tangled mess! Do not use a hairdryer for this!

  3. 3

Get your hair out of your face. You don't need hair in your face when you're washing your face. This means putting it in a messy bun, a ponytail, or even a worn-out headband. As long as it is out of your facial area.

  4. 4

Grab some facial wash or cleanser. Start by damping your face with warm water, then apply a small amount of your facial wash on your finger or hand.[3]

    • Start applying the cleanser on your face and avoid getting it in your eyes.
    • Now splash warm water on your face and pat the excess water off.
  5. 5

Brush your teeth. This can prevent cavities and gingivitis. It also helps with bad breath. Apply a small amount of toothpaste on your clean brush. start with the bottom teeth. The back is the best place to begin.[4]

    • Brush small circular motions on each tooth for at least 10 seconds. The longer the healthier! Work your way down your teeth until you get to the top set. Do the same as above until you are completely finished.
    • Use your hands or even a plastic cup to rinse your toothpaste out of your mouth. Just make sure to work the water around all teeth getting the left behind paste in your mouth. If you have a tongue scrubber (optional), It's always a good idea to use it. It can prevent bad breath and mouth diseases.
    • Flossing is an extremely important step for the hygiene of teeth. Cut a small piece of floss off your floss box. Now start working the dental floss around each tooth getting plaque and left behind food and sugar off. Do this until you have completely flossed each tooth (yeah, the back ones too).[5]
  6. 6

Find a comfortable pair of pajamas. Comfort is very important during sleeping. It can help with getting a better good night's sleep so make sure you pick the right pair!

  7. 7

    Sweet dreams!

Method 2

Method 2 of 2:

Waking Up to Your Morning Routine

  1. 1

Take a shower if needed. (Taking a cold shower will help waken you up.)[6]

  2. 2

Pick out a good outfit. Make sure everything feels comfortable! A jean jacket, top, and a skirt/ pant is the way to go! Don't be afraid to accessorize! Try necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc.[7]

  3. 3

Wash your face. Washing your face refreshes your morning and keeps you awake. It also helps with acne and pores.[8]

  4. 4

Go and eat a nutritious breakfast. This doesn't mean a dozen sausage biscuits from McDonald's. Something like a bowl of cereal, an orange, and a glass of milk is the way to go! Yoghurts or fruits will be great![9] Remember, breakfast is brain food![10]

  5. 5

Brush your teeth. Yellow teeth and bad breath is not attractive![11]

  6. 6

Try different hairstyles. Buns, ponytails, braids are cute but you can always keep your hair down. Boys can trim and style them according to their style and taste. Just make sure to brush it!

  7. 7

Apply makeup if you need it. Try to use colors that match the outfit your wearing. Beige, tan and brown are cute with most outfits.

  8. 8

Slip on your shoes and head out the door! Make sure you didn't forget anything! Be happy!

What do I do if I have trouble falling asleep?

How to Get Into a Morning and Night Routine for School: 15 Steps (16)

    Community Answer

Try exercising during the day. (Not right before bed, though.) You'll sleep like a baby. Also, make sure to turn off all screens at least an hour before bedtime. Take a hot bath or shower and then get in bed with a book to read for a little while before you go to sleep. If you slowly wind down, you'll have less trouble getting to sleep.

Can I get ready in less than 20 minutes?

    Community Answer

Probably, but I wouldn't make a habit of it if you don't have to. Take a quick shower, brush your teeth, get dressed, and fix your hair. Grab something for breakfast you can eat on the run.
