Hello everyone, welcome to our walkthrough for the Case Hunter. Here you can find a detailed walkthrough for all levels, including crime files.

Case Hunter is a puzzle-solving game, and the main character is the detective that is searching for his father. You will advance through the game by solving cases (levels) that usually consist of several puzzles. There are currently 69 cases in the game, but the game has been updated regularly (at least so far), so we will probably see more cases in the future. Besides regular cases (levels) there are also three special levels in the game, called murder files. In order to unlock the murder files, you must first complete a certain amount of regular cases. Below you can find the walkthrough for all cases and murder files.

OVERVIEW

Your character is a private detective that has to solve a simple puzzle in order to complete his first case. However, as the game progresses, you will be faced with more challenging puzzles…

The first level is part of the tutorial which will introduce you to the basic game mechanics and controls. After completing the first case you will progress to the next one until you finally reach the last case (level) which is currently case number 69. In my opinion, the puzzles in this game aren’t very difficult, and you should breeze through most levels in no time. However, you will occasionally run into some very difficult puzzles, and that’s when this walkthrough might come in handy.

Also, after completing a certain amount of cases, you will unlock crime files. These are bonus levels in which your character has to investigate the murder and find the killer. They consist of several puzzles and are usually completed in two stages. The first stage involves gathering the evidence and interrogating the witnesses. In the second part of the investigation, our character has to reconstruct the case, by arranging the evidence and testimony of the witnesses (in this part you will also discover a motive for the crime). Finally, after successfully completing the first two parts of the investigation, you will uncover the identity of the killer and send him to jail.

Atmosphere

The game features a huge amount of puzzles, which will provide you with hours of fun…

image

As already mentioned in the introduction, you will be in the shoes of the private investigator that has to investigate a huge amount of cases by solving puzzles. Your character is also looking for his father, and by solving some of the cases he will find clues about his father’s whereabouts.

Occasionally, some of the father’s old friends will appear at the office, looking for help from our character. For example, a Chef, and also a friend of the detective’s father, will appear in chapter 2. The chef has injured his hand and he needs help in the restaurant. Our character will selflessly agree to help him, and the entire chapter 2 will be located in the restaurant. In chapter 3 the school teacher will walk into the office. He is also one of the father’s friends, and he will ask for our help with some mischievous children. As you might have already guessed, our character will be stuck in school during the entire chapter 3. As the story progresses, we will be introduced to several new characters, like the police officer, etc

GAMEplay

The game tries to keep things as simple as possible, while still being fun to play. So, we have simple, easy-to-understand controls, and relatively easy puzzles…

image

During your first case (tutorial) you will be introduced to the controls of the game. If you tap on the object your character will approach it, and, if it’s possible to interact with this object, you will see a zoomed-in view of the object on the lower screen. To use the item from the inventory, you first need to approach the ambient object, and then drag the item from the inventory and drop it one the object in the lower half of the screen. Well, that pretty much covers the controls.

Most puzzles will require the usage of the items from the inventory, like in the first case, in which we have to find two pieces of the violin. In order to assemble the violin, we have to interact with the violin case, and place both pieces inside it, by dragging them from our inventory.

Further down the line, there will be cases that consist of several areas – multiple rooms or other parts of town. A map, located in the upper right corner, can be used to travel between different locations inside the town.

Graphics

Simple, and cartoonish graphics fit very well with the overall atmosphere of the game…

image

The graphics are simple, which isn’t a problem. However, during some cases (levels) you will have to tap several times in order to interact with the object. For example, if you want to try to interact with the bucket, sometimes you will first have to tap on the bench next to it. Our character will approach the bench and then you will be able to see them close up view of the bucket on the lower screen. Overall, this isn’t a big issue, since the areas of the game are quite small, and there aren’t many interactable objects.

Tech Compatibility

The game has moderate requirements and can be played smoothly, even on some of the older devices…

image

When it comes to tech compatibility, the game can be played on most devices, since it doesn’t have high requirements. For Android users, the minimum requirements involve having an Android 4.4 compatible device, which is fairly low. If you plan on playing the game on iOS, you will need an iOS 11.0 or later compatible device. However, the requirements are quite high considering the simplistic graphics.

Free-to-play Friendly

You don’t have to spend any money in order to enjoy this game, and that makes it very F2P friendly…

image

As already mentioned, you don’t have to spend any money in order to fully enjoy this game. However, it is a mobile game, and as such, it must have some in-game currency. In this game, we have two currencies, coins, and diamonds. You can earn coins by solving cases (completing levels) and through your hotel. The hotel can be upgraded with various types of furniture and other decorations, which can be purchased with coins. However, even a partially equipped hotel can generate income (coins), by attracting the customers and fulfilling their needs.

Besides coins, we also have diamonds. You can buy the diamonds for real money, or you can acquire them for free by watching ADDs. Diamonds can be exchanged for coins, and you can also use them to purchase the hints, which can be very helpful for solving some of the more complicated puzzles.

Well, since you can acquire both currencies for free, and because they aren’t really necessary to enjoy in this game, I would say that Case Hunter is really Free to Play friendly.

Verdict

All in all, the game offers a lot of puzzles, but because of their simplicity, you might be able to breeze through the game in a few hours…

image

The puzzles are fun and interesting, but most of them are very simple. However, occasionally, you will encounter a sudden spike in difficulty, because there are several puzzles in this game that are very difficult, and can be quite challenging even with the help of the hints. Overall, Case Hunter is a very interesting game, but it can be completed in just a few hours, and that’s its main downside.
